With the recent consoles being released just over christmas with brand new games. But are the new games any good? I have had almost all the nintendo console (lacking the super nintendo had a megadrive instead and don't regret it). But are retro games actually better or am I just looking through rose tinted glasses? Well Zelda has kind of gone down since twilight princess but that is only two games in the series.

| It's a bad zelda game but a good game. |
But Skyward sword and Twilight princess aren't bad games just bad zelda games. Unlike Ghosts and Black ops II and they are bad games repetitive and simplistic. We had some horrendous games in the 80's and 90's Clay fighter 63 1/3 holy snot balls batman that was just almost bad as Superman 64.

Why was this game even released!!!
Wow was that game the biggest pile of dog poo. I mean seriously all bad games are judged by this. But we still big games attached to big names (mainly movie ties ins) but not that bad. Lets look at the other end of the spectrum with the best games. Goldeneye is terrific it had an intense single player campaign and one of the best multiplayers the gaming world has ever seen and is still played with joy today. I can't even think of a shooter that is even on par with that multiplayer today. Halo two is close but still mising something and online multiplayer just is missing something. Personally I think it is the social aspect I know the irony in that comment with more people playing together. Yet there is something about playing with friends in the same room together with beer and crisps you can't beat. Now with split screen leaving us for good, I don't think gaming will be the same from swapping saves on memory cards or battling your mate on pokemon next to you gaming is in my opinion when played together. So yes older games are better mostly because single player you competing with yourself and multiplayer was an excuse to have your friends around for sleep over when we were young.
The games may look old and dated but the passion was there and everytime was a joy to play and games today seem to be easy and dull. Cheats in the same room screen peaking or camping ended up with bruises sorry mean made a pariah in the playground. The graphics might not be great but still they are fun and in today's environment of highly competitive gameplay it seems we are forgetting that games are meant to be fun. Well I'm off to play metal gear solid 2 have fun.
